Claudia Labrosse
I develop an optical and light-based practice that transforms natural light into narrative material. Based in Orford (Qc), Canada, I work with reflective surfaces, translucent membranes, fine engravings, and heat alterations to generate interference patterns resembling forest observations.
My intention isn't representation but creating a perceptual experience where seeing becomes movement, with works evolving according to light conditions, time, location, and viewer position.
What makes my work unique is the articulation between optical devices, image creation, digital alterations, and artisanal techniques (stained glass paper, micro-engraving, transfers, heat), allowing me to compose "narrative luminograms" that blur the boundary between reality and reflection to question our spiritual and sensory connection to nature.
