Infinite flower (2024)
“Infinite flower” emerged from a meditative moment in my studio in Orford. After a long contemplation of leaves moving outside my window, my hand traced lines without specific intent. Suddenly, this flower appeared spontaneously, as if nature itself were guiding my creative gesture.
This creation belongs to a period of deep questioning about the alarming decrease in biodiversity in our regions. The interconnection among all forms of life is at the heart of this work.
Medium: Mixed media
Technique: Drawing, photography, digital modifications, printing, cutting and collage
Dimensions: 10 × 8 × 1 inches
Through meticulously cut layers of paper, I explore the tension between fragility and resilience that characterizes my practice. Each incision represents both my vulnerability to the world and my determination to create. When light passes through these cutouts, it animates the work with a life of its own — the floral motif seems to breathe, transforming with the viewing angle. This perpetual metamorphosis perfectly embodies my pursuit of a “living visual field” where the work is never fixed but exists in constant dialogue with its environment and observer.
